Antoines Hermes Bars Lemon Drop and Side Car

2011 Mar/Apr

(Richardier’s Lemon Lime Drop is the same, but I use the juice of 1 large lime instead of lemon and substitute Grand Marnier for Cointreau. The brandy in the GM helps to mellow the extreme tartness of the lime. I also like to use a small handful of frozen wild blueberries as the “garnish.” That makes it a “healthy” cocktail, tee-hee.)

Ingredients:

Lemon Drop

  • 2 oz. lemon-infused vodka (my fave is Skyy)
  • 1 oz. Cointreau or Triple Sec
  • juice of 1/2 large lemon
  • dash of sugar syrup (agave nectar is good too)
  • lemon twist to garnish.

Directions:

Put everything but the twist into a cocktail shaker over ice and shake, shake, shake.

Strain into a martini glass. Garnish with the twist.

Ingredients:

Sidecar

  • 2 oz. good brandy
  • 1 oz. Cointreau or Triple Sec
  • juice of 1/2 lemon
  • dash of sugar syrup
  • lemon twist to garnish

Directions:

Put everything but the twist into a cocktail shaker over ice and shake, shake, shake. Strain into an old fashioned glass over ice and garnish with the twist.
